**Before a registration is confirmed, member and nonmember Student/Trainee or Technicians must provide proof of status with a current license or certificate, student ID or a letter written on official letterhead and signed by department head, mentor or supervisor.  The full nonmember fee will be charged if verification is not provided by April 17, 2013.

Terms and Conditions

The American Heart Association will not refund registration fees paid if a person joins at one member level, registers accordingly and then later upgrades to another member level with a lower registration fee.   Similarly, no refunds will be given to anyone who registers in one category and then later submits verification to receive a discounted rate.

Requirements for Discounted Rates

  • Student/Trainee** - Still in training as an undergraduate, graduate or post-doctoral/clinical fellow.  Badge reads, “Student/Trainee.”
    Only eligible in this tier for a maximum of four years.  Then, membership must be upgraded to the next tier. 
  • Technician ** - Must be full-time laboratory technician, research technician or cardiovascular technologist..  Badge reads, ”Technician/Technologist.”  
  • Early Career - Completed training within last four years and M.D.'s or Ph.D.'s in the four years after their first faculty appointment*
    Only eligible in this tier for a maximum of four years.  Then, membership must be upgraded to the next tier.

AHA council members pay a significantly discounted fee.  To qualify for the AHA membership rate, you must renew or become an AHA member by February 27, 2013.  For detailed information about the levels of membership, criteria and benefits associated with each level, please visit Member Services.

Housing Information - Conference Venue/Hotel Reservations

ATVB13_DolphinHotel_Orlando ATVB 2013 will be held in the Dolphin Hotel, which is located in the heart of the Walt Disney World® Resort, between Epcot® and Disney's Hollywood Studios™ and close to Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and Magic Kingdom® Park.  The Dolphin Hotel offers a variety of options to fill your leisure time, including 17 themed restaurants and lounges, five pools, a white sand beach, two health clubs, tennis, and nearby golf.  The most convenient airport is Orlando International Airport (MCO), which is about 23 away (30 minutes).

Rooms for conference participants are available at special reduced rates beginning at $199 per night single or double, and will be available on a first come, first served basis until all are filled or until Wednesday, April 10, 2013. 

The accommodation rate includes:

  • Unlimited in-room high speed Internet access
  • Up to 60 minutes of free local, toll free and credit card access calls (10 cents a minute thereafter)
  • 20 minutes of domestic long distance calls per day
  • 2 bottles of water daily
  • Unlimited access to the hotel's health club facilities.

The rate does not include sales taxes (the current tax percentage is 12.5%).

Full payment must be received with your registration form.  Make checks payable to the American Heart Association or charge your registration to American Express, Discover, VISA or MasterCard. Registrations without complete payment will not be processed.  Wire transfers and purchase orders are not accepted.

A full refund will be made if we receive written notice of cancellation by March 20, 2013; otherwise, a $70 cancellation/processing fee will be charged.  No refunds will be made after April 22, 2013.
